The below link is the "Illinois Conference Safe Church Policy" adopted by the Conference Council on November 18, 2006. We ask all churches to read this and become familiar with this policy. You may also adapt it as a policy for your local church. The Insurance Board is asking all churches to adopt a policy similiar to this one.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
If your church is already in the UCC Insurance Board program, you know the excellence and value of our insurance program. The Property and Liability Program administered by the UCC Insurance Board is unequaled in coverage and is competitive in the market, saving dollars for the ministries of our churches.
For those of you who have not yet taken the opportunity to cover your church's property and liability insurance needs through the UCC Insurance Board, I sincerely hope that you will contact or welcome a call from Pat Stein who works with the UCC Insurance Board, and learn more about the program. I want you to know that I support the UCC Insurance Board program not because it is "our" program but because I am convinced it genuinely is the best available program for our churches. Neither the Conference nor the national church "makes money" from the program--it exists entirely to serve our churches and I give thanks to God for the confidence we can have because of our United Church of Christ Insurance Board program.
