EXTRA! EXTRA! You will read all about it!
In the August/September 2009 issue of the United Church News, Illinois Conference edition (the last print issue), we said: "Don't go anywhere. We'll be right back?in some form." Well, we're back?as an on-line newsletter. The debut on-line issue will be March/April 2010. The deadline for information to be received in the Conference office (to Carmen at illconfcarmen@aol.com) is March 3. The transmitting date is March 10.
General information: We will use the Constant Contact program. The format is different from the print format that we used; it is not a 3-column page layout. (A sample page is attached.)
The approximate word count per full page, not including headlines, is about 360 words. If photos are used with the copy for a page, the word count decreases according to the photo(s) size.
Content for the on-line newsletter will focus on Illinois Conference, Association and national UCC news.
March/April 2010 issue:
Associations are invited to submit timely information to Carmen by March 3.
Photos should be sent separately from copy in .jpg format, also to Carmen.
Information about Spring Meetings will be included in this issue
Haiti relief efforts within the associations would be timely.
Lenten events could be submitted.
We thank you for your patience as we have worked to re-group and continue to make the UC News a relevant communication arm of the Illinois Conference. We look forward to your contributions to the on-line newsletter. A reminder that all information/photos are subject to review, editing and placement by the editorial staff.
WE'RE BACK!
