(I wanted to let you know that on January 1, 2010 the poisition for the AV library is being eliminated from the conference budget.  I would like to thank the churches who have been faithful members of the library.  It was a joy to serve you and help you with the educational needs of your congregation and ministry.  Blessings to you as you continue to serve your church faithfully.  Paula)

Welcome to the Illinos Conference Video Library.  Let me introduce myself.  My name is Reverend Paula Comper and I am an ordained UCC pastor.  I currently serve a local church called the United Church of Christ in Sauk Village.  My congregation is a multi/racial, multi/cultural congregation.  I am a member of the Illinois Conference Partner's in Education, and I serve on the Eastern Association Committee on Ministry.  I am the Contracted Program Staff for the Illinois Conference Youth Initiative.  I take care of the web page for the Illinois Conference.  I also do seasonal work for the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiania, balancing their troop accounts from May through September.  I wear many hats, but enjoy my many part-time employment opportunities.

Currently we have a lot of videos in the library that are not being used, so over the winter months I will be spending time reviewing as many as I can.  My goals are: is the video useful for UCC/DOC churches today; does the video need a study guide to make it useful; what is the target audience for the video; does this video promote UCC theology.  If a video needs a study guide I will write one or ask for help from Illinois Conference Partners in Education.  I also will look at a better way to cross reference the videos, so hopefully I can do a new on-line catalogue that might be more user friendly.

To receive membership information for your congregation, or to check on a video or DVD availability, please call the Conference Office between 8:30am and 4:30pm weekdays at 708/344-4470 or email me at illconfav@aol.com.   I am usually in the office three days a week, though it often varies because of my other responsibilites.  I do check and answer my emails from home if I cannot be in the office.

Please note that as we add new matierial to the library it will come in the form of a DVD.  All of our suppliers have discontinued VHS.

Thank you for using our library!

Rev. Paula R. Comper
